OTHERwear Hoods
The classification of Other is often manifested as a psychological construction of socio-econmic identity. This is typically expressed in vernacular English as "Working Class," and "Upper Class." Using the two largest groups with which people commonly identify, working and middle class, OTHERwear hoods typographically examine the relationship between the boundaries of class and how we label ourselves and those around us. Users literally wear these labels on their head, the very place where these distinctions are created and considered. On the tag, graphic elements of a bureaucratic form are used to identify the brand. The title "Other" is specifically left unchecked, posing the question to the viewer as to whether or not they identify as Other and what that means.№ 2/4
