Schneller Inc. Aviation Patterns*

Schneller Aviation's expanding international marketing efforts grew to include culturally targeted products for new airlines in growing economies around the world. Designed as part of a series of laminates and non-textile flooring for aviation interiors, these pieces deconstruct traditional cloud and auspicious symbol patterns prevalent in Chinese architecture, clothing, furniture, and art. Options of porcelain blue and neutral ink wash color palettes, give flexibility to developing Chinese airlines to choose to be bold or subtle. These patterns were adapted for personal use in a hospitality setting, showing the strength pattern's graphic qualities when changed dramatically in scale and color.
